Vision

Cultural Vision: We believe that efforts to alleviate poverty, promote sustainable
development, defend the right to political participation, and reclaim Mayan
culture and identity can only be realized through land redistribution which
puts our Mother Earth back in the hands of Guatemala´s rural indigenous
majority.

Economic vision: We believe that peasant farmers need access to land, and
once on the land must work cooperatively and coordinate production to ensure
control over capital, raw materials and consumer markets.

Political vision: We believe that peasant farmers must participate in political
parties and lobbying groups to direct the flow of development funds, gain
a voice in policy decisions which affect their lives, and ultimately hold
political office themselves.

Social organization: We believe that the integral and holistic development
of Guatemala´s rural population can only come through extensive and consolidated
grassroots political organization.
